English stevie-lee year 9

in English we have been learning about static images first we read a book called abomination  then we had to wright an easy

Robert swindle book called Abomination is about  Martha who is a 12 year old girl who meets a boy, Scott ,at school and falls in love with him. He has a positive influence on Martha’s life. She has really strict parents who belong to a really strict religion  called the Righteous. Martha she has a sister but they don’t talk about her as she was kicked out at the age of 16 when she had the baby.

Before Scott arrived, Martha didn't have friends at school and she got  bullied bye Simon. no one would sit with her or lend her anything and make fun of her clothes because her mum hand sewed them  and after school they would chase her home chanting Raggedy-Ann,Raggedy-Ann, wet her knickers in the can.”   she gets  up in the morning to her dad smashing plates and her mum cleaning it up she didn’t care her  dad does it every morning when the mail comes in Mary sends cards and dad doesn't like it so he puts it  the bin and Martha parents have left so she gets the card out of the bin .Martha and her parents have a negative relationship in the story and scoot and Martha have a positive relationship.

Scott and Martha have a positive relationship.  He cares for her and asks her to do stuff with him so that she is not lonely. For example, Scott meets her at the supermarket when she has to do her family shopping on Saturday’s. He brings money and buys her stuff, like chocolate, lollies, chips and coke, things that her parents don’t let her have. Scott also sticks up for her and tells Simon off for kicking her in class. It shows how much Scott cares for her and I think that it’s a good thing because no-one else will be friends with her or wants to be friends with her because of what other people have said.

Another way that Scott is a positive influence is when he helps Martha find Mary. Mary is Martha’s older sister who was kicked out of home just because she had a baby. Martha’s parents keep this a secret and Mary believes that her baby was put up for adoption when he is actually in a cage in a cellar. Scott manages to contact Mary through the internet and messages her and tells her she needs to rescue her baby. He signs it Marfa, Mary’s pet name for Martha. Mary turns up and rescues both Abomination and Martha. This proves that their relationship is positive because it shows how much Scott cares for her and wants her to have a better life. If Martha never met Scott, her life would never have changed for the better and she would still  be getting abused by her family.

In conclusion, Martha’s relationship with Scott had a positive influence on her because he was a friend, she finally had a friend. Scott helped against the kids who were bullies and , he kept their family secret. Most importantly, Scott helped Martha and Abomination escape from her abusive family.

once we had written the essay we had to find a quot from the book i choose the house there life the twilight zone and draw a static image about it

once   we had drawn the image we had to wright a commentary

Static Image Commentary
My static image portrays the idea that  Not everyone lives the same some people have everything they could ask for like Mary and live a colourful life
As other people in the world don't and have nothing in life like abomination
I have shown this by
The colours that I chose and splitting the page in half to show you the difference between the to  lives .
I have a chosen to put a house on one side as that is Mary's house and it represents her beautiful life. On the other side I have but bars because abomination is in a cage in the caller so it represents his home and I have hands holding the bars as they represent abomination and his dark and gloomy life .
I have used  bright colours and dark colours as they represent abomination and Mary. The bright colours represent Mary because she has a good life with her job and living with her friend as she is a free person  and doesn't have to go bye the religion rules anymore.
The dark colours  represent Abomination as he is living in a cellar and doesn't know what a normal life is as he has never seen the light and has never been taught how to play  with other kids and he's never been to school to learn and has no communication with the outside world .
I have chosen the quote Their house and their life. The life twilight zone  because I think it goes well with my image as its about  their lives and how different they are.

New Zealand’s first missionary school opens on 12 august 1816
the new school stood beside missionary Thomas Kendall’s house in the small Church Missionary Society settlement at Hohi  in the Bay of Islands, which had been founded 18 months earlier. he school had an area for Maori students to sleep and a cordoned-off platform for teachers and Pākehā students to sleep  it also  had A fireplace with a brick chimney provided for heating and cooking. the school closed in 1818 because the building became a mission store.
