Art (Micheal Mew)

In art we have been learning about vocail points and leading lines.and art done by Michael Mew. using the skills we learnt about. we made our own art inspired by michael mew. first we got magazine's and cut out pictures that stuck out to us.After we found out pictures we sketched them around or ages in our book to try and put them were we thought they would fit.then we glue the magazine cut out and glue them on to a brown piece of paper.we then had to choose which one was our vocal point and have the leading lines pointing to the point we also drew a bird that had a meaning to our school i choose the mohua because i thought it whent best with my work. finally we added some watercolor to make it look colorful.

here is an image of my art work

my leading lines lead to the image in the middle i chose this image as my vocal because i thought it was most intense image and it has a lot of color and i choose the other images as i thought they looked creative and worked well together.

  1. Kia ora Stevie, thanks for sharing your work.

You have used blue and orange together here really successfully, did you know they were contrasting colours? that makes them bounce off of each other. I also appreciate that in using the red lines you were trying to use a more subtle combination of colours to lead the eye through your image.

What you have will work well for the magazine layout in term two, as we can select areas and scan them onto illustrator selectively. My advice to you would be to add more shading to your bird with pencil overtop of the blue watercolour. Possibly re-wet the red lines and blend them more so they are even more subtle. But only if you find the time to do it, otherwise, what you have works fine.

Thanks for sharing, I look forward to seeing your lovely smiling face on Thursday if not before :-)
